i'd like to see it lower on the profile and closer to the inside of the gear.

pinion depth controls the profile. lash is for the heel to toe adjustment in case ya didn't know.

the concact is almost over the end of the top.

those are not new gears so it has to stay shimed as it has run for 20 years in case you didn'y notice.

ahh, gotcha, didn't look at the other gears so long as it is as it was when it was pulled apart

ya, its the old gears and everything. same shims. but the carrier was pulled to weld and i pulled the pinion out (its a 14b so its part of the case with it) and just checking it is all good before i seal it up and put her under.

Yeah on a used set don't bother to try and change the pattern I have seen way worse patterns than that, that have run in trucks with no problems. That pattern Jesse is showin ain't bad I wouldn't worry about it.

alright, tonight ill finish putting her together and under.

if these were to be new gears, what would you change ? get the drive to be a little deeper?

and is it possible to move the contact on the coast without changing the drive ? or should the coast matter that much.

put it back as it was. no 2 ways about it. used gears don' generally don't fuck with the patern/lash.

new, i'd like it lower on the tooth profile, and closer to the inside of the gear.

the pinion depth is the same. not sure if the lash is the same as before it was taken apart, but its between 5 and 8 thou so it should be good.
