looking at my carb today i seen it was missing this cover

and when we went 4x4ing last week, i was on about 45* angle and it wasnt' running worth shit, and when it was every 10 sec or so it would cough blackish blue smoke????? and when i got to level ground it would barley start, and when i rev it up it cut's out at 3 grand???????

i think its running to rich?????

oh yeah its a 1985 22r carb

thermostatic valve & cover ... you NEED that dude . sheesh ..

carb cleaner solved the problem,
going to have to take carb apart and clean

mine too, i got an extra on my other carb, maybe that will fix my problems, got any more helpful hints slacker.

oh i got one, when i hit the gas it does nothing for a second but then kicks right now, and when i release the gas my rear tires burn out

Not all 'yota carbs use that thermostatic bowl vent. If there's no holes leaking fuel in that recess, don't worry about it.
