So the wife and I went to get my new junk today! Took all my tools and crap to revive a in the weeds, has'nt been running in a while kinda deal. Slapped in some fresh gas, threw in the battery, bit o water in the rad and turned the key. The Toyoti's 20-REMNOPXYZ.....sputtered to a nice 3 cylinder sounding idle. All plug wires on distributer make truck run better!! Drove it from Horseshoe Bay to Coquitlam without problem. Too easy!! 1987 Toyota Long Box(IFS), 5spd, gots 252,000km's on a rebuilt motor(5000km ago), oil cooler, 4 new(1996) Rancho 5000's, manual hubs, Warn front bumber and 8274 combo(I need a 3 pin controller!), factory sunroof, rear slider and a Jensen cassette deck with Radio crap speakers!!Even the tires are decent!! Gotta go look at my junk again ........[cheers]

sweet find.[36]

for the warn plug, just wire a switch on your dash instead. Or If you really want a controller as well, any warn controller will do, then just get a 4 pin trailer plug (bolt right into the solenoid box). i just did this to mine

300.00$ cash!!! No rust on the cab or doors; front right fender has rust and the bedsides(you know, where they ALL rust out at the seam!). The bed is an easy fix as just the seam area needs a bit o metal; going to find a front fender(any color), anybody? The only somewhat major problem is that the head needs to be tightned down or the gasket needs replacing. Still just a wisp of white, but the oil looked like a Mcpuke and Chokes vannila/chocolate milkshake! So what am I doing today? Fixing junk and confronting paintballers! Thanks Fingers for looking for an extra Warn 4 prong plug. My cable is wrapped around the bumper right now! I might need a solinoid....?[cheers]

Got bored Sunday around 1pm and thought "time to take CanClampy for a bash". Met my boss at the gate(Eagle) and looked it over, smoking out any remaining spiders still hiding in the cab[stoned]. When all was good, I proceeded to drag it's rear bumper, and everything else that resembles metal, over EVERY rock on the bypass!! Even got er lightly stuck twice(jack-all to get out)!! Already got my moneys worth!!!! Turnes out that when I changed the oil, plugs,filters.....that the motor is a 2.4L and not a 20R like I assumed. I'll need to get a clutch soon and OPEN DIFFS SUCK. But you guys already knew that!!!Smell ya all later![cheers]

nice bonus to find out its a 22R and not 20R[36]

just read you first post again... '87 means it should be fuel injected, so its a 22RE:cool:

Late 86/87 but runs the 2brl carb as I just cleaned it! I wish that it had fuel injection though!! What wires went where when you hard wired your winch there Big E? I can't remmember and don't need to kill any more solonoids!

Warn's website has really good diagrams. Just d/l the new owners manual for the 8274-50. It uses 5 wire for the controller, but you can ignore the extra two. I believe the colored wires you need to pay attention to are white, black & Green (or blue in some models)
