well i had a crew over a couple weeks ago and we got the cab back on er. Now all I gotta do is mount the gas tank, mount the steering box, wire it all up, grind down the intake manifold and do the brake lines and gas lines and she'll be road worthy. OI.
anyone wanna post pics for me?

it's an 83 pickup. Got some f150's in the rear as the mains with buggy's, rears up front with highsteer and u-bolt flip. 7Mge with a G52 tranny and flat decked. Then I'll get aussie lockers front and rear with 37's. Will have an exo eventually and a tube deck.

nice , that is pretty big the front view looked like a huge body lift for a second there till i seen the others

07-16-2006, 01:58 PM
what kinda tires are those

07-16-2006, 03:29 PM
yeah I'm thinkin it might be a little too big. I still have to put in the front lift shackles so i gotta figure some shit out. And it's sittin on 32's there, so imagine it on 37's later. Ima keep the 32's for street though for a little more fuel economy, plus those tires seem to wear pretty slowly on the pavement. My biggest problem right now is the gay 3" body lift. I had to move the engine forward about 1" which is making it tight for the rad, but the intake manifold is rubbing the brake booster. So I gotta shave off some of the manifold edge so it doesn't dent and rub when i torque the engine. I'm hoping that when i shave that it might allow me to take 1-2" off the body lift, but we'll have to see.

nice rig you got there[cheers]

here we are throwin the engine and tranny on

07-21-2006, 09:49 PM
aaaaaaaand more progress, yes I took off all the hood latch hardware and am gonna put hood pins in, all this was so I can mount the Rad outside of the cab in front. I really didn't like the idea of putting my rad on the flatdeck and there wasn't enough room to put the rad in it's proper spot. So I had to do a little cutting and welding to make adequate mounting spots for the rad and also had to notch out a bit of the underside of my hood so that the rad cap could fit too.

how is the grill and all the shit in the front going to fit now that the rad is on the outside? are you going to make something to protect it?

07-22-2006, 01:54 PM
yeah i was looking at the stock grill, fuckin plastic crap, looks like it would be pretty easy to make a taller one out of steel which i could mount over the rad. I'm also gonna make 1 inch spacers for the headlights to push them out a little further past the rad.

more progress, deck on, snorkel is just sittin there. Trac bar is in place and gas tank is where im gunna mount it.

08-19-2006, 06:05 PM
nice work man ...

08-20-2006, 04:55 PM
Ummm there is a huge body lift on there, for the guy that didn't think there was one.. Other than that nice job on it so far!!

08-20-2006, 07:19 PM
yeah, it's about 2 and a half inch body lift, i had to put it in so the intake manifold would clear the brake booster. Even with the lift i still had to do a little cuttin/grindin on the manifold so that they wouldn't rub when the engine torqued. I'd like to cut it down to a 1 inch BL, but that will be later on, i just wanna get er back on the road now, been too long without my baby.
