Looking at a 2001 2500hd chev pick up with a duramax diesel. Anyone heard anything good or bad about that year. Are they different than the 2003 and up ones? They are asking $21,000.00. Good or bad price?

2001 to 2004 1/2 they used the LB7 diesal. the only problem with them that I know about was the fuel rail use to leak but there was a factory fix for that other than that it's a soild diesal....and ya that a good price[cheers]

The truck only has 94,000 km on it. It will be aweekend truck only so should last for ever.

Give the front end a good check over.Inner tie rod ends, upper ball joints, front bearings/hub assemblies.

Also give the brakes a once over,if it hasn't had a brake job yet,it's close.
Check the front caliper bushings as well, just grab the caliper and see if you can move it up and down. The only other thing to check is the intermediate steering shaft.Make a sharp turn going slow over a rough surface and listen for a clunking sound, you may also feel it.You can buy a lube kit for this.

Good trucks though,dad has a 02 and loves it.[cheers]
