Can any one help me with the 2 wire setup on a 73-87 SBC alternator. I have the plug and wires but don't know wher to connect them on the starter or battery? I do not seem to get any charge to the battery without this plug in, but do not know how to connect it. the part number for the plug is 5432 BP. Someone please help out as I don't know what to do. So far my solution is carry a battery charger back and forth to work. Any feedback is appreciated.

Are you running a chevy truck or a chevy alt in another make?

If you have the 10SI alt (most common) the big terminal goes directly to the battery +. No 1 terminal usually goes to the idiot light on the dash, but sometimes went through a diode and to switched ign power. Terminal No. 2 also goes to bat +, and can be connected to the big bat terminal on the back of the alt.

Try this for more detailed info.
