Trying to be as cool at Dave and Trev :p

Just 2wd for now... exhaust and crossmember didn't allow for the whole sm465/205 combo. [27] Its going to be my work 'van' anyhow so the 4wd isn't critical... yet.

:p I agree with their philosophy - not their methods :D

She's done now. I had the driveshaft lengthened (7" to go from TH400 to SM465) and got the rest of it bolted up tonite. Pulled it in and out of the driveway. [36] [41] Slugging back beers as I type [31]

I guess I beat Dave, huh? [f]

I should start of the front axle and t-case.... maybe I can beat him on that too [22]

I got it all tidied up. Ripped out most of the rotten old carpet. Still need a to do a little tinbashing to make the '78 tunnel fit the '84 floor.

I insured it today (truck plates no less [22] ). Drives like it was supposed to now. [36]

833km on 114L of fuel [36]
(Roughly 80% city, 20% highway)

After doing the math....
17mpg (US)
20.6mpg (Imp)
13.7L/100km

Not bad for a 6000# truck. I'm up about 200km/tank from the TH400.
I'm running 3.21 gears and 255/85R16 (33") tires.

I get a little less than that with my current combo. 16.3 mpg (US) or 19.5 mpg (imp) on the highway. 6.2, SM465, 4.56's and 39.5" TSL's. I'm looking forward to posting up some new mpg numbers when I get the NV4500/203/205 in with some 37" AT's. I'm hoping for 22 US or 26.5 imp...

It's amazing how much power and fuel the TH400 eats isn't it?
