WOW!
That is all I can say. 4 days is definately not enough time for this area. Definately going back now that I know how the mountain layout is.

The Indian popo decided to "interogate" (sp?) us. I guess some guy in a yellow jeep was "driving erratically, and without trailer lights" last night. [f] We had no idea who she was talking about. [15]

This is what Kristi thinks of my cooling system. The rad just couldn't work well on the steep climbs on the Highline and Mission Pass. [16]

Carpenter Lake

The lake was WAY down, and it is now a river.

The cricket we found in our campsite. Damn thing is huge!

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/eheye/Goldbridge_06/mowson01.jpg

Kristi decided to go adventuring...

White sand = not your regular beach.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/eheye/Goldbridge_06/kristi02.jpg

Mowson produced some nice Rainbow Trout. We caught a couple of one pounders and a two pounder. Definately need to bring up better tackle now that I know what bugs are in that neck of the woods.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/eheye/Goldbridge_06/kristi03.jpg

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/eheye/Goldbridge_06/travis01.jpg

So after catching a couple of fish I decided to go take a shiat in the bushes. I dont know what it is but you get this really weird surge of energy after having a camping crap. I decided to go exploring...

Stupid mud. [16]

The cities dentist drill for cavities and root canals. All mechanical. Got novacane? [f]

A UV light box for the miners. They put these in the Solarium.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/eheye/Goldbridge_06/bralorne05.jpg

This is what the room looked like. Talk about an insane assylum or what.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/eheye/Goldbridge_06/bralorne06.jpg

Some of the chemicals the doctors and dentists used...

Pioneer Mine & Surrounding areas

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/eheye/Goldbridge_06/pioneer01.jpg

Old rickity walk way we had to climb up to get into the ghost city.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/eheye/Goldbridge_06/pioneer02.jpg

Ghost city.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/eheye/Goldbridge_06/pioneer03.jpg

Bottom of the walkway.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/eheye/Goldbridge_06/pioneer06.jpg

Stopped for lunch down by the river. Lots of gold flakes in the river, wish I woulda brought a pan.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/eheye/Goldbridge_06/pioneer07.jpg

The old Gold storage house, this is right below the Pioneer Mine.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/eheye/Goldbridge_06/pioneer08.jpg

Water supply for the ghost town.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/eheye/Goldbridge_06/pioneer09.jpg

This is a river crossing that a few of us found. I would like to try and cross the bridge, but without a teather there is no way I would cross that old rickity bridge. But there is other buildings on the other side. A whole new area to explore. [41]

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/eheye/Goldbridge_06/pioneer12.jpg

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/eheye/Goldbridge_06/pioneer11.jpg

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/eheye/Goldbridge_06/pioneer10.jpg

Minto City / Minto Mine

This was on our last day, we went and checked out the mine before heading back home. Very neat if you have never seen a mine in person. There was a slab of ice about 6 inches thick and 10 feet long. The air was cold and it smelled really stagnent.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/eheye/Goldbridge_06/minto02.jpg

A boiler? for one of the nearby shacks.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/eheye/Goldbridge_06/minto03.jpg

The shack just outside of the mine.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g187/eheye/Goldbridge_06/minto01.jpg

That is all. What a wonderful trip, too much to do. Definately need a good 2 weeks to see some really good stuff.

Thanks for the wicked adventure all, Kristi, Zuki and I enjoyed every moment of it!! [36] [36] [36]

Heading towards Goldbridge just after you pass Gun Creek Camp and over the one lane bridge you will see a building on the left. Go down to the beach there and head towards Goldbridge along the side of the lake/river. You will see a building on a mound of rock. It is there. [36]

Sweet pics and story! Definitely going to make it down for one of the May long trips!

Hate to burst your bubble, but if you saw "gold" flakes in the river, they weren't gold! Gold is heavier then anything else in there, and will be under the sand, look for black sand and start panning! [cheers]
