what do you guys think of the new landcruiser?

i think it should have a solid axle and a v8 [36]

Took the FJ for a test drive a few weeks ago, and its so cool. The V6 comes with enough power and im sure it has toyota durability. The interior is cool but it might be hard for a big guy to get in the back seat. The ride is unreal, we flew it over some train tracks and washboard, but still didn't rattle the truck. Although a solid axle would be cool its not likely, and toyota has already done this with the FJ80. The stock IFS with traction controls and a rear locker the FJ cruiser will hold its own offroad. With a little modifcation these truck will be true 4x4's and live up to the cruiser heritage.

didn't take one for a test drive, but I got a good look at the dealership.

240hp 4.0L V6 with an optional 6spd manual tranny.

They're priced pretty reasonably for a toyota. Plus the fact that you can get an e-locker and REAL rock sliders -- bolted solidy to the frame, not just show steps. i think they'll sell a lot of them.

If I was in the market for a new vehicle and had 35k to spend I would definitely get one.

Only thing I don't like is how the rear tail lights stick out the side so far,,

If they had a diesel option I would have one in the driveway right now. With a milage rating of 19 city and 24 highway I just can't justify it. My '86 diesel cruiser gets almost 28 city or highway, doesn't matter. It was a sad day when Toyota Canada merged with Toyota USA to form Toyota NA.

[stupid] I looked at one the other week , said to the guy I'd buy that in a sec if it was a diesel.

Dude, I work at Toyota and get to drive these things. Well, I get to drive them when ever they aren't sold. We have a hard time keeping them on the lot, they sell really fast. They did a some what of an ok job at taking things from the orignal, which I have, and bringing them into updated times. I just don't like that front bumper, it'll get ripped off real fast.

id drive one fo-sho. not likely as a wheeler, but great road trippin vehicle.
my only real gripe is that you have full time 4wd with the 6-speed.
the crapomatic has the part time system and get better fuel economy. duh.

Oh yeah, I love the fact there's no carpet!!! All rubber mats. True, they do need diesels.

05-25-2006, 10:21 PM
a diesel turbo would be nice just a little straight 6 [36][36]
