View Full Version : Stalling

Coming back after wheeling on Tuesday while still on the gravel road I went to use my brakes to slow down a bit for a corner and found that they were right up at the top and really hard to use as my truck had "stalled" while driving! I was able to start it up again right away and continue on. Once I got to Mission it did it again while I was coasting to a stop at Lougheed and Cedar Valley Way, once again I was able to start it up again right away. It is doing it very quietly, no rough idle, sputtering or lurching. It did it a couple times last month when I started it up in the morning and just back it out of my driveway. Do any of you guys/gals have some imput as to what may be causing this? It's a 1993 Grand Cherokee 5.2L

The 318 Grands are prone to problems with the IAC (Idle Air Control) motor causing them to stall at idle or when returning to idle.

You can try to clean them with Fuel injection intake cleaner but that doesn't usually work.

That IAC motor has been updated so many times by Chrysler and I haven't replaced one myself for a while that I can't remember the part number so yeah gettin a little rusty [1d] s[f] [f]
