a 1985 ramcharger, its got a 318 with 4 barrel carb, what kind of hp do these motors have?
and what can be done to these motor's?
and can 39's be run on stock axles and gears
i am new to dodges, used to toyota 4 cyl's

Power? Not much. Mine had a cam and it was still fairly gutless. The same can be done for it as for any motor, the question you really need to ask is, how fat is your wallet? Power is proportional to money invested. Although I'd still put a bigger motor in. 39's can be run on the stock drivetrain, so long as it's a pavement princess that sees the road once a month. Wheel it and it will break. Stick to 35's, or upgrade. To get a little more in depth, front is Dana 44, rear is Mope 9 1/4, T-case is 208, if it's auto (very likely) it's a TF727.
I wouldn't mind getting one, but I try not to pay more than $500 for my bushbeaters. What's the point, when they wind up mashed against a tree anyways?
