Just wondering if there was a way to tell the year of the axel ?
I have an 8.8 out of an explorer it has drums so its before 94 but other then that I dont know. I was wanting to get some bearings for it gears and a arb
any help would be great thanks

I don't believe it matters what year for bearings and gears and lockers for the 8.8s I am pretty sure they are all the same for that stuff at least it has been for every 8.8 I have put together.[cheers]

All you need to know is that is an Explorer 8.8 the rangers had smaller wheel bearings. Everything else is the same.

Do some research on replacing the crush sleeve with shims on the pinion. It will make the pinion bearing last longer and the seal won't be prone to leaking. Everything else is pretty straight forward.
