If you are serious about a Land cruiser get on to a site called " ih8mud.com " it is a Landcruiser only site.

I prefer the pre 78 FJ/BJ40's and 45's, there are lots forsale, just some are worth quite abit now adays. You can also pick up 90's style cruisers from lots of japanese import sites. Some of these trucks come with 4 link, lockers, and 6 cylinder turbo diesels. Only problem is they are right hand drive.

I would skip the diesel and buy the only good ones the 97-98 fj-80. The came with lockers front and rear and a 9.5 inch ring gear size that can run 44's

I looked at the BJ60 wagons for while before I got a Suburban instead. (All my spare Chevy parts made that decision for me.)
The hardest part is finding one that's not rustier than hell. early 80's ones didn't even have OD, iirc. The later ones did. The diesel is a non-turbo.
I think the imported RH drive ones are an excellent value. All the ones I've seen have turbos, and full-floating rear axles. One place that imports them: http://www.mustang.bc.ca/

Kool guys thanks, this is what she tells me she wants...diesel (must be) and she likes the fj60 from the late 80's early 90's (I want the lockers) other than that she'd prefer an auto but i told that may be tough so she said standards fine too...so now we just have to sell the civic so I can get this show on the road!!!!!!!!!

BJ42 w/ BJ60 axles. Keep the diesel, 4.88 r&p on 35" boggers. 3.9:1 t-case gears and DONE! oh f&r lockers w/ power steering.

If right hand drive isn't a problem for you then I would look at a 1986-89 HJ61 (four door wagon). They can be found with Automatic and are turbo diesel and have crazy cool factory options. Prices are in the $15K range but I think they are worth every penny. Especially when you consider they are coming from Japan with low milage (usually around 150K kms) and have no rust. Try finding an Canadian 1986-89 cruiser with no rust!
