Thought we'd try out the winches just to see if they still work! They got a good workout Sunday up the C&W Railbed, still almost 4' of snow in places at the Bulldog tunnel! Going to be several weeks still before getting through to Christina Lake. 2 of us aired down, Speedy's Grizz with 26" Mudlites worked a little better, but not much in the snow, though great on the ice! My Kodiak with 25" Mudlites up front aired to 2psi, 25" Executioners on the back down to 1.5 psi didnt' even bulge the least, even on ice! They have extremely strong sidewalls! Needless to say I got high centred a couple of times due to the lack of ground clearance.

First stuck of the day. If you got off the packed snowmobile tracks, it was soft and deep!

After winching Wayne's new 800 Bomb out, it was Speedy's turn. Almost went over the edge, even though he wouldn't admit it!

Eventually we made it to the Bulldog tunnel which is almost a kilometre long!

9129

Snow got really soft where the sleds had turned off before the tunnel. Lots of winching/pushing here!

Speedy worked hard pulling line a few times to get his quad into the shallower snow outside the tunnel. Wayne and I decided the easier route was here on the left.

9141

But we decided to cut down the snow to make a ramp first. The 4' vertical drop would have been a little too much!

9143

In goes Wayne

9147

Should have made the ramp a bit wider, had to rock back and forth to get straightened out in the ditch.

After getting straightened out, away he went, widening the ditch for me!

My turn in the ditch, it was much easier to swing the rear end down once I nosed it in

9132

Speedy's Grizz, first one to the tunnel.

9144

Through the tunnel, we encountered the usual wall of ice at the west end. Most of it had fallen already this year, but still pretty cool. The ice in the tunnel was like a skating rink, I was fishtailing a couple of times and lost it, spun around and just stopped before hitting the sides!

9156

Speedy just had to make it out the other side, but this wasn't the way!

9135

He did make it over the ice and managed to go a couple hundred feet in the snow, but back to winching and pushing to get him turned around and back in the tunnel!

Sparky and I know the feeling of snow quading! Were tired of it. So we decided to go run muligatoni which I havent been up to since I broke my ribs, there was snow then and the ponds were frozen. Well now it muddy and the ponds are ponds. So from being stuck in snow we decided to sink the quads. I managed to burry mine to the top of the seat.

Bring on the mud!

All I have to say is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!

Makes me want to buy my quad even sooner! But now I have to wait until I'm done school... [27]

Unless anyone so happens to win the lottery and wants to donate to the "Sue-needs-her-own-quad" fund... :D
