View Full Version : Lift is on its way

Just ordered a Rubicon (RE 6030) Super-Flex 3.5 lift for the XJ. $830 plus taxes plus shocks plus shipping through a buddy who has connections (RE website wants almost $700 US, so not too bad). Napa here quoted over $1000 before taxes/shocks/freight, stupid small towns!

Now I really need some gears/axles. Hopefully Jeepnut still has the 4.10 ring/pinions  , but I need a set of 3.55 cases to bolt them too. The stock 3.07 cases apparently won't accept the 4.10 crowns. I procrastinated and lost out on a deal on a 4cyl XJ I assumed had 4.10's and also some 8 wide aluminum wheels, $400 it went for. [27] Auto wreckers here want $500 per AXLE for 4.10's and first quote on 3.55's was $700 for front/rear, then he dropped it to $400. Still crazy for Dana 30 and 35's, not like they are 44's! Who the hell is going to pay $1000 for stock XJ axles!

Will post pics before/during/after the install hopefully next week. Will be a few nights after work to get it done.

right on! If I was down your way I'd lend a hand (if you wanted one)

are you going to leave the stock rear end in?

I got an 8.8 (thanks gavin!) a couple weekends ago, and won't be needing my 3.55 rear after its in. I don't know what your timeframe is but mine is ...sometime this spring...

yup...still hanging on to them for ya. I'll box them up this weekend and send them to speedy with one of his stocking orders next week.[cheers]

Thanks John! I owe you a big bottle next time we meet up! Speedy tells me you might not make the Trout Lake trip this year? Should try to put a couple of days aside for it, we're going to be exploring some areas new to us, should be a good 3-4 days riding!

Fuzzydog, PM me what you want for the axle, I'm assuming it's a 35? That just leaves a 30 for the front, shouldn't be that hard!

Bogealot, will the YJ 35 bolt into an XJ? Both leafs, just as long as the perchs are same width.

No the YJ diff is not a bolt in on the Cherokees the axles are the same width but the Cher is a spring over axle and the YJ is a spring under axle and the springs are different distance apart.
