in my 1987 bronco fullsize i blew up the 8.8 at stave and thinkin of puttin a 9" in it ,will it bolt in or what mods will i have to do,also will a full floater 10.25 or 10.50 out of a 3/4 ton bolt in? ive broke 2 8.8 yokes in the last 2 trips to stave ,is this a common problem with the 8.8

if your talking about the flat yoke on the pinion you probably have some seriouse axle rap issues and another diff might not help you

either one is fine but I think you are breakin because of axle rap. Concider a traction bar or two...Do you have fair size lift blocks in the back or sacked springs?

if it is axle wrap issues the u joints will typically go before tearing the flange plate
what year is your truck and 8.8 ?

if u got a f250 the 8.8 is underrated for it as well as the 9"

and you may have to relocate perchs for the swap depends on donor year....

never had a problem with a 8.8 yet....

I swapped a 9 inch into my f 150 and and I have had no problems with it so far and I went through a couple 8.8 before that only mod I had to do was change the length of my driveshaft
