The last photos of our trip are finally web-ready.
Continuing to have fun in the Florence Junction area of Arizona, we decided on a road trip that proved to be scenic and one to scare the daylights out of me. The Apache trail is not recommended for long vehicles, is steep and windy no pavement kind of road.
Coming from Globe AZ towards Theodore Roosevelt Lake, we pass by the Tonto National Monument which houses 2 well preserved cliff dwellings. Nice time to notice that Taz is wearing sandals, and they were not up to the hike, so we viewed from afar..

Reaching Theodore Roosevelt Lake, we begin our journey on the Apache Trail

The road along Apache Lake was so beautiful

Now, the next part of the road (can you even call it that?-barely room for a Zuke in spots along a steep and windy cliff. The ledge winding around the mountain was actually on an overhang, and when we met oncoming traffic, we had to get so close to the edge) I was so overcome with nerves that I couldn't even photograph any of it. Thankfully we reach the lookout-and what a view!

Deciding on heading over to Quartzsite for a few days, Taz takes me along Lost Wash trail.

The Imperial Sand Dunes, home to many movies including Star Wars, Stargate and Waynes World II. We've had our trike here a few times and what a blast! The plank road was the only way to cross the dunes until the highway was built.

We ventured out to the Official Center of the World (in Felicity, Ca). Here lies a pyramid, and plans to build a huge church. The Chocolate Mountains in the background are home to the Proving Grounds and Gunnery range. The arm of Michelangelo sits in the center of the sundial pointing at the pyramid.

The last part of my adventure down here was to Mitry Lake by Yuma. This was the perfect place to end my two weeks before flying home.

Welcome back Taz and t_girl! Nice pictures. I like the water, rocks and off-road trails. What kind of animals did you see? You see animal skulls or skeletons? Hope to see you both soon. [41]

Thanks Taxidermy!
We had a great trip. Lots of animal skulls, not much of the skeletons left. We did see deer, wild burro, roadrunners, and even a coyote. A few lizards, but just the small stuff. Rest of the reptiles were still in hibernation. They like it hot before venturing out of their dens.
