cam, flat tops which are not the best if your looking to get a shit load of miles out of it but it all depends on how much the compression is bumped, realy when it comes down to it the possibilities are endless. Stroker crank, porting heads, bla bla bla, it al depends oh what you want out of it

you could just roll in a new set of bearings. new head gasket, maybe get some aftermarket heads, a cam, and you'd be laughin.

For $1200usd(1500ish cdn) you can get a complete 347 stroker kit, comes with every thing, crank, rods, pitons, rings, cam, the whole nine yards. I think this is the site, http://www.strokerkits.com/

if you're goin from a carb to efi, you'll never lose, not to mention you'll get more reliability on side hills

You could always do the head gasket, get it running and get some clean oil to the bearings, wouldn't get to carried away unlesss that is what is what you want to do, antifreeze aint great for the bearings but for the most part dose not justify a rebuild, save you some cash!
Good Luck

i agree, id just pull the heads, port the emissions humps, new gaskets and keep driving it, it shouldnt take more than a couple hours(the porting will prob ably take about 4-6 though, stupid iron heads)
