I honestly don't have a clue dn't wat to get ripped off. Also is there anything I should know aobut the 3rd so I don't get a shity one or somthing?????

Thanks

probably the most distinctive thing to look for (since the 3rd will be out of the axle) is the carrier.

I'll let you figure out which is whch [9]

Damm I've looked at the pics for the last couple mins, I can't fucken tell, I'm a fricken dumbass.

I'm also getting the diff without gears if that matters

Big_Ern

take a look at the carrier -- specifiacally the center part between the ring gear.

Notice on the 1st one (V6) you can't see the spider gears. But in the second one (4cyl) you can see the gears inside (spiders & side gears).

thats the easiest way to tell if the 3rd is out of the axle

uuuuuuh dont buy it then, if it doesnt have gears then all the is is the housing and nothing else. why are you buying it anyways?

i believe an easier way is to look at the axle housing and see if the diff is still in there or not[f]

Not all V6 3rds, have that. Only the newer ones with ABS.

trevs just trying to be helpfull...im not sure if the vss on the 3rd for the abs is an option or came on them all

the v6 3rds have a fully enclosed carrier while the 4cyls dont...

if you cant tell the difference you should be shot[f]

I beleive rear ABS was standard equipment after '90, but I'm not 100% positive. Wasn't it a goverment regulation kinda like the 3rd tail light in '92?

stuckle

3rd brakelight was regulation in 86 on cars and 93/94 on suv's and trucks, thats why mine dosent have one...

as for the abs i have no idea...that abs setup looks like its only a rear vs front abs not like mine which is each tire has a vss

Big_Ern

Front ABS wasn't even an option until the Taco's I think. And ya you're right, it wasn't anything fancy, just the whole axle, not each tire individualy
