View Full Version : jeep tj vib/clucking noise

i was wondering if anyone would know hat is causing this vbibration i have on acceleration in my 97 jeep tj. u feel a vibration right around the shifter only when your going from stop to go in first gearbut once ur moving ur dont feel it at all. you can also hear a cluncking noise when the vibration happens. if anyone has ever had this problem or knows what is causing it i would appreciate any info thanks everyone

sound like a u joint or drive line angle problem to me

i thought it was a u joint also but then i replaced it and that wasnt the problem. i was just reading on this site and i think this might be the problem http://www.4x4xplor.com/T-CaseTSB.html its more of a clunking noise than a vib

we have a similar problem like that on the xj, but it is the t case shifter, touch it + it goes away.

maybe the mounts are shot?
