View Full Version : Nissan/Datsun wheel bearings?

Anyonme with experience pullin the front rotor assembly off of a 1980 4x4 Nissan we got the hub off no probs we got the lock nut off no prob and all the washers but the hub/rotor assembly is not coming off. Any GOOD ideas out there[cheers]

I used to have an 81 and i did it but it was sooo long ago i can't remeber.But if i did it it must be easy.Maybe you are overthinkin it?have a beer and look again i bet it is something stupid and if that doesnt work get a bigger hammer.

already tried a big joint and a 5 pound slide hammer

I had a 1980 datsun and gave up half way trying to pull the hub off. (like ten years ago). get a 15 pound slide hammer. might help[35] [35] [35] [35] [35] [35] [35] [35] [35] [35] [35] [35] [35] [35]

dunno if they're similar to the toy axles, but a big brass drift an sledge hammer works. keep hitting it from all sides till it loosens up

nothing like a Toyota the hub and bearing are pressed onto the spindle

We tried a five pound slide hammer and no luck would the hub rotor assembly thread off somehow?

Dam I wish I remembered how to do it, did one when I worked for United Autowreckers and I remember it being a bitch but I can't remember what I did in the end.[27] [27]
