View Full Version : Stuck in the river

Well, my cousin finaly decided to send the pics of me stuck in the river [36]

Lets just say this started as a 3 hour tour![stoned]

Well, things were fine on the way across the first time, this was coming back across, and I forgot to put it back into 4x4 (when i was across the first time, I took it out cause didn't need it where i was goin to after across.. OOOPS!

picture this, wifes standing on her seat, my console is full of water, and beers are floating around. Full beers.

Thankfully my buddie backed in to grab my winch hook (insert sigh of relief for installing winch 4 days prior!!)

Henry got in back of truck, didn't wanna get his feet wet, did anyway, by the time he backed up close enough, he was standing in water reaching for my hook!! thnx Henry [d]

he parked and now i gots ta winch to shore!!

Patti, she hgad to steer while i was on the hood winchi, notice the smile of joy on her face  she hates wet feet, lol... Lucky for me, Chris pulled my body plugs out last weekend, whew!!!

Well, the reason this all happened was cause my cousin didn't wanna do the crossing as she had her beautiful baby with her, age differance, we''ll say it's my niece. But, without hesitation, we said, no prob, we'll go somewhere else, "family first".

So we went somewhere else and my cousins boyfriend decides to try wheelin, also forgot to put it in 4x4, lmao!!

On closer examination, look what happens when ya don't put a towel, jackets or blanket onto the towstrap!!!

The freakin hood even moved!!

Well, we had a good day, jeeps fine and sorry pics took a week or 2 to get posted, but they came and i wanted ya to see em, [cheers]

Left to right - My lil brother Kevin, Cousins Hubby JD, and yours truly

[cheers] everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had lotsa beer and food, had my cooler in the back, had a 24 in it with 3 dozen hotdogs and fixins, plus the new case of beer that was floating around in the front, lol. The tow strap took out the headlight and bucket, was a big yellow teledyne strap with a huge d-ring, kinda like them old western triangles they rang for dinner, lmao!!
Lessons i learned..
1. don't take it out of 4 wheel.
2. get a snorkel set up if i wanna do that again
3. remove fan and install and electric fan with switch so i can shut it off when i go that deep, the fan caused the water to go high and into aircleaner intake, as i had already relocated it over to my master cylinder. .. [27] [27]
