got my new axles today, for FREE!! i wish but BAM wanted them outta his place so once i get the bling its going to him, anyways pulled the rear all apart and it looks really good and clean its got 5.29's and a detroit in er, front is open with 5.29's and im going to completly rebuild it, its got warn hubs on it and i cant figure out how to get them off, theres a bolt that looks like it goes into the axle flange but it keeps spinning. i can pull a normal yota diff out in under an hour by myself but this friggin bolt is pissing me off.

i remember taking hubs apart on a yota with ifs, we just used normal sockets but im not sure if thats diffrent, my special socket is to pull out the thing that holds the bearings in (sorry for lack of technical terms)

is that a washer?? the end of the birf has a threaded hole used for pulling the shaft out far enough to get the clip on.. but it looks like someone has bolted a STANDARD thread bolt into the METRIC hole. you will need to hold the pinion and lock the hub, would be much easier with an impact.

yea im selling the boggers. pm me if you want them

so i put the detroit in last night. the gearing with the 33's is awesomealthough the spedo says im doing 80 when im prob doing 60. the locker is unreal, doesnt make a sound on road and barely locks up unless im cornering really hard in a parking lot or something, but hooks up instantly in lo range, pretty much go to my tipping point in 2wd yesterday, im going to be putting the new front axle in on saturday and then the truck should go anywhere especially with the lower than stock gear ratio!
