can i put my winch behind my stock bumper?? on my 87 f250 its a warn 8274, ive seen people with them but im wondering, will it work?

Do it !That winch is the BEST out there !Talk to a fabricator and get it done!You can make anything happen when you ask the right people!Will lose the majority of your factory front bumper but who cares![36]

man, throw a hitch on the fornt end, and make up a little reciver on the winch. put in front, and rear

that set up of daryl's is great but i went hunting with buddy that has it
they twist and they get sloppy after use I'll jump the gun here YES i told
him "learn how to drive"
personally Gavin i like the dual winch set up hide the front in the bummper same the back winch

I don't think an 8274 would work on them plate deals cause its a stand up. might have to do somethin liek this to omount it behind a stock bumper

feffff it, im making a bumper... started today with c channel, cut notches and bent it, then welded it.. got a huge brush guard off a newer truck with a dam,aged side so im gonna put that on too, ill get pics on wednesday

coo, ya when i get a winch id like to go reciver style mounting but it just doesnt seem to strong..but i guess that just because most of the frame mounts are miky mouse....

Thats a way better way to do it then if you go someplace you shouldn't have gone you can winch yourself right back out [36]

ever tried to lift an 8274 with 200' of cable? They're fawkin heavy. I sure as hell wouldnt want to have to try and put in on when your stuck in a muddy hole etc.

you are correct. The 8274 needs a plate in FRONT of the winch to mount to. It doesn't mount to the bottom like your standard lowboy winch. Still not hard to do, just something to consider in the design.[cheers]
