View Full Version : Oil Lines Needed - Emergency!

Does "ANYONE" in the lower mainland have a set of Oil Lines for a GMC Jimmy? It's a 91 4.3 Litre V6 (4x4). Mine are leaking out from 4 - 8 Litres a day and I need them replaced immediatly. Otherwise I won't be able to make it to work and IronMan is going to seriously kick my ass.

It turns out the manufacturers can't keep up with the demand for them and they are back-logged about 2 months all around British Columbia.

I was offered the lines for 25.00 bucks from BlazerBoy, but he's up North. So there would be shipping as well and it could take some time (Time I don't really have)

If you could respond saying you have them before I actually get up and order them from Up North, I would give you the same price plus whatever shipping would have been. So like 35.00 - 45.00 bucks.

These oil lines come right from the Top of the Oil Filter, down to the bottom of the engine, There are two of them side by side.

If you do have them, and your in the lower mainland (hopefully near Surrey) call me @ 778-241-4211 (I'm Chris)

Even if your not in Surrey, give me a call and I'll see if someone can bring me out to grab them, or meet half way or something.

Thanks a lot.

Yeah my friend use to work for Ralphs, they are closed on Sundays. Also ... they cut all of the lines in the engine before they put them in the yard. And there pretty anal about letting people into the back to check them out before they are cut.

I called pickapart and it turns out they have three vehicles there that "may" have the lines in them, but they said I would have to go down there to get check it out.

Not to mention... I don't even know how to take the things out yet LOL

Oh and getting there is impossible seeing as my truck is buggered and my bro's car couldn't get that far with a screwed ECM.... ayeeeee ... shit this sucks for me hey... lol

could yah get hp hoses made up a princess auto instead? or are the ends special??

TimHortonsAddict
03-05-2006, 05:00 PM
Where is princess auto again? The ends are most likely unique but I would imagine they could be taken off and fitted on some how? I hope LOL

From what I can see the lines start off at the oil pump, and they are rubber (that or there is rubber over top of the aliminum lines?) Anyways it runs down to the engine then turns to just straight aluminum and goes down who knows how far?

Man I'm so damn worried I'm gonna get fired it aint even funny... and I can't get ahold of IronMan! His phone is hoopered or something.

Do you think it would be exspensive to have some lines made up? The manual for my truck (bible) says that lines could most likely be made. And someone said that he made some out of hydraulic lines. I don't know how to do either.

Oh not to mention when I get them... I'm not going to know how to put them in. But... if it means my job I will come hell or high water lol

JAY / IRONMAN if you read this, I'm can't even move my truck!!!! I stop it from running and the leak slowly stops. I turn it back on and there is about 4 lines of fluid dripping out in various spots. Filled up half of a 4 litre ice cream pale in 30 minutes... maybe less...

I tried phoning... says mobile customer unavailable, and no answer with shawn... dunno what to do lol.... FOKKKKKKKKK

okay plan b

bus?

phone them up and ask to get from? to ? they will tell u how an what bus's to take

TimHortonsAddict
03-05-2006, 06:23 PM
Yeah I have no choice but a bus... my girlfriend takes the one on KGH in surrey every day... don't think they run that early though. I've yet to check the schedule.

So taking a cab from here to a sky train every day is going to be EXSPENSIVE ...

I tell ya... if it doesn't fuckin rain it poors.

Been asking everyone I know to borrow a car. Just cause by the time I get off of work, get back to a sky train, and get home... I aint gonna have time to look around. It seems everyone I call "THINK" they know what lines I'm talking about and that they are back ordered forever... but I need to physically look at them to be positive.

What's the point in ordering something if they don't know it's the right part right...

As for Princess auto... with my luck there probably opened till 5 or something and I wouldn't make it.... Not to mention it would probably be really exspensive as well for them to make up lines and shit...

Need a miracle here...

Seems I'm hooped... might as well bend over now.

Nah he's a nice guy. Not afraid to speak his mind, I know that much LOL

I'd tell the little fucker on the other line to hop on a bus too if I were him... it's work right...

This shit just chose the wrong time to happen... my life story [27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27][27]

renting a car mid week would be cheaper than transit.

Hmm... Do you know if it's exspensive to rent a car? I may frickin have to... don't you have to pay for insurance etc etc too ?

why the fuck did you wait till it was really fuckered to worry about it, how long has it been leaking 2 plus weeks? [16] told you a few ways to patch it so it wont leak and ya didnt make the effort to. and people wonder why i hate dumbasses[cheers]

Because I'm not rich? Because I ... had no money.... rent... bills, etc. Remember? I was taking out payday loans and shit...

Some people are just straight up too damn poor to fix things right when they get broke :(

Anyways, I asked like 10 people about the JB Quick-Weld, they said there is 100% no point in trying that, it won't withstand the pressure.

Hate's a strong word DINK ...[33][cheers]

i was bein polite too buddy, just wait till im a real dink, what about rubber lines like i told ya too? that would have been a quick fix, and cheaper that all the oil youve bought[cheers]

TimHortonsAddict
03-05-2006, 09:10 PM
Hmm... the top part of the lines are rubber. But the rest of the way down they are pressure fitted metal lines. There wouldn't really be anywhere to hang rubber lines along the entire engine. And I mean... if I'm gonna do it, I kind of want to do it properly the first time so I don't have to go through it again any time soon... and you know... so I don't get fired in the future cause "my oil lines fucked up" LOL

You mean I haven't seen you at your prime? Ahhh still no where close to as bad as an old Austrlian fucker yelling at me, I can be a dink right back...

Just not when your drivin me out there... don't wanna be stranded :P

Sooo... how about ya come over and give me a hand [f] [cheers]

Called a couple of places. Most you have to be 25 or over, and it's about 35.00 + Tax a day...

You by any chance seen any of these mid-week 9.99 ones lately?
