03-03-2006, 09:45 AM
If all you did was take the gears out of the third then yes all you have to do is put them back in again. Just make sure you reinstall the bearing caps the on the same side and direction as they were when you disassembled.

03-03-2006, 08:07 PM
wtf ttb and leafs?

i didnt know there was such a thing...

makes for a pretty easy sas as long as the frame it the right width

03-03-2006, 08:11 PM
any of the F250s from the TTB erra have leafs....F150 coil...and ya i thingk a solid axle will blot right up, or i at least hope so because thats what i plan to do

03-03-2006, 08:14 PM
all depends on the fram with and perch widths...

if the frams the same then probablywill pretty much bolt in...little fab to do...

not like my truck or a toy...but mine especially...my frame rails have a bend in them from factory and are too wide for the leafs, so brackets need to be fabbbbbed

03-03-2006, 08:15 PM
i have a housing and spindles, need shafts, calipers and stuff so i jsut put the ttb back in for now, and no you have to weld spring plates on and then get high steer and all that crap, im gonna get it all so i can just do it in a weekend

03-03-2006, 08:24 PM
well, if im going to do a sas im gunna do high steer as well...but im pretty sure of you get a D60 from the F350s like 1990 and up ish or what ever year they started its not to much work..but of course with any swap like that theirs always gunna be some fab work involved

03-03-2006, 09:27 PM
cool [f] [27] [27] [27]

03-03-2006, 11:40 PM
on those trucks with the leafs you can drop a 60 right in. buddy did one a few months back

03-04-2006, 04:42 AM
If you wanna do a ford 60 with high steer stick with 88 or 89 and prior I am not 100% sure on the year but later ford 60s are ball joint knuckles and are weaker and harder to do high steer than earlier ford 60 with king pin knuckles

that looks like it would be brutal on leaf spring bushings etc

03-04-2006, 07:44 PM

that looks like it would be brutal on leaf spring bushings etc

it is brutal on bushings , especialaly the shackle bushing [35]

03-05-2006, 02:39 PM
shitty deal

03-05-2006, 03:29 PM
got it done, no 4x4 yet but next weekend, and the 85 and up f350s have solid 60s, as well as 78-79 f2/350s

03-05-2006, 03:32 PM
hell ya its brutal on bushings..i just had mine done and they were in baddddddd shape...i thingk you can find D60 ford up to like 94 or even 96 with kingpins, but there VERY RARE, ya you gotta stick with the older ones....
