wuts the easiest way of gettin the top insert piece off the upper balljoint ona ttb front end?
i got the codder pins out and the bolts off that thread onto balljoint.. confused bout how to continue..
i have a set of camber adjusters that i need to install asap.. but worried bout messin up the balljoint if i hammer it.. [cheers]

use a puller and slight heat .. if you hammer the bj keep the NUT on full thread so just the top of the bj is 3-4 threads below the top of the nut.then whack the knuckle on the outside first then hit the top.or use a press.

my perffered method...

easiest is to take the knuckle off though..
if u are changing the camber adjusment bushing then do the bj's at the same time if they are even close to being worn...

i dont want the bj out tho.. i just need that insert piece that goes around it out..if i pound otu the bj dont i gota press it bak in?

put ina camber kit..i got ttb and i jsut added another 2 inches so now my tires sit a lil \ /

u will not get the camber shims changed without removing the ball joint which means the knuckle

i took em off the old axel without taken it off.. i just smashd the hell out of it with a ballpien... i dont wanna do that with the new ones tho..

[iagree] there is now way to change shim without dropping the knuckle [51]

yes there is gavin but easier and faster just to drop the knouckle and then pop the shim out and be done the tool can take alot longer then doing it this way[cheers]

if they are oem and old
they are almost always a good curse and some bleeding knuckles for sure bfore u get em out.

they do have specialty tools at princess auto relatively cheap. should be somethin there for ya. sometimes better to spend a couple bucks to avoid a whole lot of aggravation. i found a puller that fits nearly every tie rod/ball joint on my truck. works awesome
