on a 1994 firebird,V8,LT1 6speed,one out of every 20 shifts ill push in the clutch and it will make a kind of grinding screetching howling noise and some times wont pop in to gear but other times it makes the noise it will pop in to gear ,then it might not do it for a day ,hour or even a week, any ideas what this could be, thanx

so does the throwout bearing only make noise with the cutch in , out or either?and i bet doing the throwout bearing in one of these cars is a pain!cause i found out changing the spark plugs is as hard as pulling the motor im my truck!

both it does sound like the TOB but stranger things have happened.....it is a hydraulic clutch but does it have a grease nipple cause some of them do or can u access it and maybe try a little silicone spray not to much just enough to try and stop noise then u know what it is for sure...[cheers]
