Hey guys.. I have a question that may be stupid but eh, learning process... I have recontly put a solid dana 44 (front) from a 78 f - 150 into my 89 ford f 150 and took out the indipendent.. however the gears in the new axle are different from my rear 9 inch.. now is it possible to take the old gears out of the 89 Indipendent and put them into the 78' dana 44 ?

Yeah it will work fine.
I used the gears out of the TTB in by '85 and put them in my solid axle.

Used all the same shims and stuff (bearins were good so no change there) and just put new seals in the axle. It all lined up perfect so no adjusting was necessary.

Good Luck [cheers]
