hmm I was gonna say cat, but you already changed that....

the 3.0L alway had a funny smell I thought when i had mine. Altho my dad's was okay. Mine had a slow HG leak and was burning coolant, so maybe thats it?

you could try replacing the O2 sensor, chances are it need to be done anyway. I'm sure you know this, but just use one of the generic NGK/NTK sensors and splice the wires yourself.

that smell is the cat working because too much feul is geting to the cat. Running too rich, or most likely missfire.

This is not a guess. The smell is from the cat being overworked by too much fuel.

the smell you are getting is from the cat becuase of a rich condition you are smelling the sulphur in the fuel burning you might have an O2 sens starting to go faulty(showing a lean bias) or posibly a leaky injector or intake leak, with EFI the system will try to correct these conditions making it hard to detect that there is a problem.

[iagree] That is your problem Get the computer codes and runtime checked that will show where the problem is
