hey guys, im sorta new to these forums i use to post way back when some of you may remember me im seans brother, or 'mistafitz'. i went on one of the spudspudspudspudspud run, not in my truck tho..

anyways i just finished liftin my X, me and a buddy intalled the 5.5" superlift kit, and ran into every possible problem/delay, luckily he works at T&T autoparts and has access to tons of parts/tools really quick :P was also able to save lots of $$, cause this lift really nickle and dimed..

still to go:
1. i have to get my new tires, which will be 33"X12.5R15 BFG MT's this should be in the next 3 weeks (if anyone has any suggestions about tires/rims, please let me know! im still open to other options!!!)

2. take off the DAMN RUNNING BOARDS!!!!! this was suppose to be the first thing to go, but it seems to be taking forever!

3. this is gonna happen in the summer, but ill post it now so i can get some ideas, me and the same guy that helped me intall the lift are gonna fab up a rear bumber/tire carrier (like a swing away) and i may possibly do front bumper although i like mine now i might want something with a better approach angle and maybe a winch later on, and lastly maybe some rockers... this is all depending on whether im gonna offroad lots or just do mild offroading the rear bumper for sure but the others are sorta maybes.

well onto the pics, if any you guys have any ideas throw them out there this is project vehicle it took me 4 years to finally buy the damn lift so it moves relatively slow but i think if i take my time i can make a nice truck.

Bigorange440 has a 94 with the same lift and 35's,He was able to keep the running boards, they cleared and look great.I dont know how long they would last with serious wheeling.

nice truck, I'm thinking of doing the same to mine. How much total do you figure the lift dinged ya?

i bought the kit for 670 US from 4wheelparts, had it shipped up to BC for 100 then got dinged with 174 COD... freakin jerks... so about $1100 which was still $500 better than i was quoted from a local place...

then... extended break lines, i got procomp explorer steel braided $140, then i needed a few tools.... then a U-bolt... then rotors, then F it i wanted the breaks done... then the allignment, but i got a smokin deal on that, so yeah all in all probably around 1500, and i still gotta get tires and rims

yeah the 15X8 rockcrawlers are always nice :D

02-06-2006, 11:51 PM

02-07-2006, 04:48 PM
nice explorer man, if i was you id build a diff bumper and put the grill thing on it. and black rockcrawlers would be awesome with 35 inch bfg m/ts.and for the rockers id run some 2x2 square bolted to the frame and they could be liek running boards. good luck bro!

02-07-2006, 11:33 PM
I can fix ya up with rims & tires wen your ready. Don't sell BFG though. PM if ya like.

02-07-2006, 11:34 PM
Oh ya, nice lookin' ride man!! Does need skins though.

02-08-2006, 12:31 AM
yeah fordi64x4, im leaning more and more to building a new front bumper as well as the rear, i love the look of the one i have now, but it's really low to the ground and it doesnt seem very solid, it's more of a 'show' bumper

thanks again for all the compliments guys
