I went to South Kelowna hills. I drive my Pathfinder with my friend. I driving in about 6 inches of snow. We backed up the Pathfinder up a hill. We saw a Toyota truck almost tipped over. I hope they come back soon to pick up his muddy truck. I saw a green Suzuki on top of the rock hill. Then meet men in Suzuki with my Pathfinder on a different hill.

We think it was not stolen because the tracks were new from Sunday's snow and items on the truck were not taken. We think that the owner is fiquiring out how to get a tow truck in there. Good luck!

My friend and I had some adventure times in the hills above Kelowna over the weekend as well. We were going to drive the rail road bed from Chute Lake to Kelowna - it looked fine! Turns out his snow tires aren't so good. About 100 feet past a good turn around point the truck (stock F-150) gets stuck. OK, we reel out the winch and the cable comes off the drum. Duct tape to the rescue. Fart around for an hour and get moving. We can't get back to the turn around so decide to push on to the next turn around. Make it but get stuck trying to turn around. Truck stalls and battery is dead - both of them. Walk 5 km back to Chute lake. Find cell phone coverage and I call my dad to pick us up at Chute Lake. He decides he can drive in. Sticks it about a km from the lodge. No tools or shovels other than a prospecting hammer. We get him out (stock chev) and attempt to back up a km in the snow. Stick it again about a half km from the lodge. The truck won't stay out of the ruts while backing up. Not coming out this time. We work at it for a couple hours and give up. A tow truck is coming up to pluck a Taurus out of the snow (they were going to try the road to Kelowna as well). He can't even get to the first stuck truck. Ride into town with him. Started walking at 2:30 got home at 9:30 - exhausted.

The next day we buy tire chains, a come-a-long, and some chain. We throw a few shovels in the back of my stock 82 Toyota and head up. The light weight truck doesn't sink in the snow so with some shovel action and a pull to keep the Chev out of the ruts we get it back to hard ground. Then we head in and get to the Ford. It starts up and with some shovel action manages to drive out. It gets stuck a couple times and needs towing by the Toy but it gets out as well.

Lesson to be learned - shovels are good, prep your vehicle, go in groups, light is good - and don't forget the camera

(Sorry about the book!)
