i have a 90 ranger and i just put a body lift on it and now when i drive it the spedometer bounces around alot and it makes a ticking sound is this because my spedo cable is not connected properley or do i need a new one ?

maby you stretched the cable when you put on the bl. check to make sure it is tight in the back of the dash.

sometimes they pull out of the back of the speedo

could be a fray in the cable and now is catching due to different cable positioning. best cure to the problem is to turn up the radio and stop looking at the speedo.

It could also be kinked or needs to be lubed

We are having the same problem in our 81 Chev. For awhile it just went nuts goign all over and now it doesnt even work,
but hey who needs one there for pussies

It is the speedo head - in behind dash

check the connect, it's prolly looseded., tighten up yo.
if not check the jeep axles/

go to lordco for ten bucks can get a longer speedo. i had to do it on my s10 same thing happened.
