I just bought an 87 xj is there any easy and/or cheap way of getting some kind of lift in it? Damn IFS is so expensive!

some 2" coil spacers and extended shackles with trimming will fit a 31X10.50 tire.

Theres a guy on the forum here Cork he had one and used chevy leafs in the back not sure which ones and spacers up front with a different coil he got around 4" of lift and decent flex from it this was a while ago and I'm not sure if he is still around but Redwingfan knows him

yeah corc hangs around bc4x4, and chwk4x4 he sold the cherokee and is running a suzuki now.

2"budget boost or 3" rough country lifts are fairly cheap, s10 or dakota leafs and grand cherokee coils is another way.
