I have an xj with a 4.5 inch lift but my control arms bottom before the heeps in full flex mod yet.
I've been thinking of a different mounting method keep stock location on front diff and right where the stock mount is on the unibody make a block to bolt in like a reversalible shackel an make the control arm out of 1" round stock or square this would be a parrel control arm now to allow full flex either way

anybody's suggestions would be great

Make longer arms....there are kits that make the lowwer arm the main arm and have the upper arms join to the lower arms....simialar to the radius arms on an old bronco..........the upper arm is connected to the lower arm with ....somthing like very large heim joints left and right thread so u can adjust caster/pinion angle to suit.........the lower arms then are made longer and mount around mid vehicle....there is another type of longarm kit on the market but i like the engineering style of this design

1 inch stock is wayyyyyyyy too small

[45] fleshtone...........aout 4 ' long with hand like appendages on each side.....they have reasonably good manual dextarity...........great for self flagellation and occasionally pleasing the wife![22]

I dont own an xj....i just work on em.........i run a ford pickup

reason im asking is because with 4.5" lift there's no way he need long arm setup just yet. He might have stockers for some reason or not long enough ones, maybe even straight ones.

just rectangle tubing made by rancho I think and they hit on the front top when flexing making the other side hang high an dry

So they are rectangle tube ? i have never seen those! Look at the rubicon express ones the are round tube and have a bend at the end. Maybe talk to T& S suspensions in langley, although i personally dont like the guy he has some nice LCA's for cherokee's.

you either need a bent lower contol arm or an offset one like the rubicon express stuff. Talk to Matt at JEAP THRILLS 604 465 5559 they are rubicon direct and have almost anything you need for jeeps.or I can build you anything you want for it.

I have seen the ones made by T&S Susp.in Langley the are nice.

I am sure they can be made by using a couple of heim joints and a left handed 7/8th left hand tap and a 7/8 right hand tap for the other end for the adjustability ,A tube bender can be used to make an offset in the .125 DOM tubing .Heims can be bought at any place like Fortins Auto parts.
I have thought of making a set and try them on Knutsfords XJ.I think the heims will aswage the control arm binding. The above chart looks correct to me excellent info.

hey brain..if ya cant do it yourself.........................you gotta pay professionals........................you obviously dont have the experience or skills to do it yourself....or you wouldnt have paid NSOR to do it for you!.
I dont know about you but i dont work for free and the company has been in the 4 wheel drive business for 20+ years......that experience does not come cheap!
Now you could pay some part time fly by night 20 yr old to do the work but what do you have or where do you go if there is a problem?
It seems that all of the 20 + year olds expect that experieced people are gonna work for nothin like they do, but thats just not happenin!
Good luck with your own backyard bullshit but if your crappy work ever causes an accident involving anyone i know...........your toast.;
Good luck with your cheap ass bullshit work.....
And i know that any certified mechanic will agree with me.......good work costs a descent wage! we all have to make a livin.
