Those fi 460's are GUTLESS, and eat no less fuel because of it. Sorry can't really help ya with the value, sounds about right though, depending on condition.

how are the cab mounts and rad support ?
Those loggers boxes are a little pricey ....so it sounds like a good deal to me if everything checks out.......

Those logger's boxes are heavy... just so you know. I really like mine in spite of that.

Front suspension is usually worn out... look for the front tires leaning in. Most likely a D44TTB. Might be a D50TTB if its a heavy duty (8600+lb GVWR).

I would look longer and harder to try an find an F350 (D60 front) for $3k.

I drive past this every day:

Doesn't make much difference for most of us.

Upgrade path is a bit better for kingpin... i.e. aftermarket knuckles, and highsteer arms.

Balljoint type doesn't seem to get problems with death-wobble though.

Always broke

Ball joint ones are just a little weaker if your gonna put hugh tires on it you really would want a king pin set up[cheers]

It will cost you 3000 bucks just to fill the tank every week.

Ain't it the truth... My buddy had an F450 towtruck for a while. When he had his foot in it (nightime, less traffic), he could burn a 1/4-tank driving from the Queensborough Bridge to the Timmies on Kingsway (Burnaby). That's a solid 4 gallons in about 5 minutes. Gotta love the EFI 460. [22]

kingpin death wabble can be overcome easily...i run 42's with no stabilizer and no wobble......king pins are automaticly adjusted throughout its life and you can run highsteer or over the top steering effortlessly.

I fixed my DW with a stabilizer, but I know others that have replaced lots more parts and aren't so lucky. Ask 'mj' about DW... [32] .. if he still checks in here.

A D60 vs. TTB is day vs. night for offroad. Kingpin vs. balljoint is more like morning sex vs. evening sex.

nice annalogy but i tend to disagree because ball joints are "light duty" and more car friendly than the kingpin.....king pin for offroad allows the use of highsteer easily and that is the next logical step for heavy duty wheeling.....................more like.............20 yr old pussy compared to 40 yr old pussy
20 yr old is exciting and good enough if you dont have any at all and are willing to put forth the effort but they are usually head cases[38] [41]
40 yr okld pussy has been in the market and well tested all the kinks are worked out(in) are great for the long term if you wish but are usually head cases[38] [41]
If someone wants insight into th eD.W. situation pm me....ill give it a shot at tryin to figure it out without seein it[cheers]

You make a strong argument. I can see that being the case when you have to pick only one... however, I've got the 20yo (http://u2slow.gotdns.org:81/95f350/f350.JPG), 40yo (http://u2slow.gotdns.org:81/v3500/missionmtn.jpg), plus a 28yo (http://u2slow.gotdns.org:81/mommy/scaryhairy.jpg) pussy. Tough to start picking favorites you know. [39] [22]
