a question coserning tires & seeking cheap parts to play with.

I have a line on some 33x9.50's but have a '88 4Runner, 22RE, 4:30's & auto. Anyone run this big of tire/gear/engine/trans?

Stock came with 215's, now running 31" & it shifts better, so.....

Also lookin for 2 or 3 stock roll bars

driver & pass doors, don't need int. panels or glass but need door latch.

tryin to find parts in the Interior as its too scary at night at the coast & have been advised not to go out at night[fire] (fuckin Liberals)

yup, most 5spds are 4.10, so you'll be even better off with the 4.30's. Auto's are always a bit gutless in the toys, but it should hold up no problem.

Can't sell it so it's going up to my dads shop this weekend for a rear cage, 1/2 doors, front bumper ,rust repairs & paint ,running boards off & some 33x9.50's.
Should be done by spring.

Can't decide on painting it Yellow, Orange or Camo?

I think that the auto would be better as you've got no clutch to burn out tryin to get the thing rolling. My GPW has 4:88 gears with the Pinto 2.0L (no bottom end, but likes to run at 5-6K RPM)& with 31's I'm either riding the clutch or starting off in low range.

Still lookin for above mentioned parts

I'd paint it Camo , I would think 33's an a 22re would be pretty bagged, mine on 31's,5spd is bad enuff.

IMO I don't like them in yellow but we have a stubbed one here in orange and it looks gooder but you can never go wrong with a good camo job.

Actually, you know what would look good?with your bumpers and gas can holder i would paint it olive drab with those flat black military code numbers on it.There is a pathfinder way back in the for sale section here done like that and it looks sweet.

The rollbar is in Kamloops, if your able to pick it up you can have it for free :) If I brought it down say $20? As for the doors... I think I saw an ok set at a local wrecker. I will have a look in the next few days.

33/9.5s will work good ..there is a suprising power loss from a wider tire (33/12) .. i ran a set of old BFG MT's for 5 yrs ...with them siped even was decent in winter

I don't like using a mechanic unless I absolutely have to. I like to try to do it myself and them bring it to the mechanic when everything is a mess and I can't fix it. Is 5 speed really that much better?

guess it treally depends on what kinda driving ya do. i like automatic so I can take naps as I wheel and drive, if its a 4cyl manual will give you more available power.

I've had a 22r with a four speed and 33 MTR's and I'd never have done it to an auto just not enough power

I ran 36" swampers on my old 85 runner with 22re and auto an it was fine as for my new rig 87 pickup with a 22r and 36's and 5 speed and it sucks but have the new 5:29s ready to go in and all should be good.

whoever says that you would burn out a clutch with 33's is full of shit. i run 33x14 bogegrs with 4.10's and its fine. actually i just put a holley carb on and now i have a lot more power, well whatever you can expect out of a 22r and a lot mor low end too. if your putting a cage on and only running 33x9.5's the cage is a waste of time and a money unless your going for looks

don't know what tire size & a roll cage has in common , but puttin in one for several reasons.
1. fiberglass breaks from the weight of the vehicle on it
2. easier to put a tarp on when the hardtop is off
3. nice to wrap a cargo net around the rear portion to keep your shit from flyin out
4. when hunting, fold rear seats & it gives you something to hold onto when standing up
5. gives you mounting points for shovel & jack all
