ok so i know nothing about domestics let alone carbs, so which one will give me a better off road performance? i would rather have the carb die out on me going downhill than uphill. oh and what cfm should i look for? 350cfm or 500? oh yeah and im outting this carb on my yota

you button hooked me, i didnt know you were going to button hook me

stock

no aftermarket toy carb will perform as well on angles as a good stock carb. Webber might give you a tiny bit more power, but won't do as well on hill climbs etc.

If ya get the Downey Adapter kit and run a 2158 MotorCraft or Holley(same thing) they work great on angles and they are really cheap [36]

not so much point if you're completely upside down, but laying on your side you can sometimes drive out of a flop depending on the situation.

Shut it down....save the engine....use the winch....unless your running a fully sponsored vehicle in some righteous rock competition.....then pin the muther fucker and watch the sponsors cringe......:)

i ran a 390 hollay 4bbl on my 258 for a while ....before swapping in a small block....and it seemed to work ok......nuthin except propane and i guess diesel runs like a deer....er i mean....fuel injection.
And the altitudes in this province....you can chamge 3 or 4 thousand plus feet in an hour or so and finiky webers and the like are a pain in the ass....so ive heard........jetting and such....whereas injection effortlessly and seamlessly compensates and your engine not only runs....it runs well..........in ontario the carbs only have to deal with hills and bumps and such and i always liked the spreadbore carbs!

Holley 4bbl don't seem to work very well for climbing because of
front and rear mounted floats the old school 2158 holley 2bbl work great at almost any angle (and they are cheap) it's a four banger he cant run a q-jet (way to big) or a 4bbl anything it's just way too big if ya can i agree with Aaron just run the stocker just get it set up right . if that isn't an option go with the 2bbl[cheers]

Chad, why not just swap over the stock EFI stuff? or do you think this would be a simpler setup?

interesting idea though, I'd like to see how it works out.[cheers]
