ok i had to drive my lifted truck with small tires the other day when i got my other ones swaped over and the truck handled like shit. it has a big lift on it and the tires were small about 30" or so. and i couldnt belive how bad it handled. why is that? it drives fine with the big ones, but not with the small ones. anyone have a answer why?

I'm guessing the little tire are narrower and not offset as much which would make it really tippy. I noticed the same difference going from my wide 33's back to stock 31s on my old 4runner.

Smalle tire will also absorb less bumper etc due to the shorter sidewall, but I doubt that would be too big of an issue.

[iagree]....same thing went from 35s to stock waht a difference...

88 ranger with 7 inch lift and a 79 mustang on 44s

excluding offset (1)think of a gyroscope (2) think about the relationship between radius of a tire and how it reacts (longer ramping ratio).
