Well you just could not ask for a better day to be out on a quad. Other than maybe having a few more hours sleep. Stayed at the shop with sparky until 1 this morning putting my winch back in but thats a diffrent story.

None the less sparky and myself met up with crimsen a bit late abd headed up to the stokes. The gray of the valley gave way to clear skys as we unloaded the machines.

Crimsen gave us the grand tour of some of the stokes. Trail was wickedly riddled with whoops and wet hevy snow. At the top crimsen decided to jump off his quad to see how deep the snow was.

the pics just do not do the view justice. the shy was a lot nicer red then in the pics, and the clouds covered the valley and were as white as the snow, with the green and white mountains rising up on either side, and the sun setting behind the peak of one.

was also cool comming back though the fog on the frozen lakes and clearing.

Awesome pics! Last pic POTM material!

Looks like fun playing on the lakes, but I would be a bit concerned about them being frozen enough! By the looks of it, you guys started to break through the ice in a few spots![2c]

crimsen

on the lakes the snowmobiles were crossing, but to be safe we stayed along the outside and took it easy.

there were a few soft spots still, especially where it switched to land and was thinner. not sure if it was the whole ice we were going though or if i was just a top layer with slush under before ice, but we were not stopping to find out :D

wasw gunna go up there on the sled on the weekend but we hit little white instead, not much for a base but the snow was a good 4 feet at the highest part we went to, burried the sled twice in the powder and it was snowin like a bitch, awesome day still

Time to switch from quads to snowmobiles! Remember, lake ice is always thinner at the edges.

But Roy you forget. If you are going to break thru somewhere, might as well be in 2' of water and not 20' plus. Where is the fun in snowmobiles? Any asshole can run a sled in 2' of snow, on the other hand not every wingnut can run a quad in 2' of snow.
