How much work is involved from swapping from ttb to sfa in say a 90's 250?

depends on what kinda tools and experience are at your disposal.


im not sure if a SAS is any differant from the ttb to the ifs, but if it is, basically rip out all the ttb stuff, then copy a sfa setup so ya will need coil buckets and shock towers, trackbar, make your own steering to work, radius arms or how ever it will be set up. usually a good weekend is needed without any problems and a decent knowledge/experience in doing these.

F250 already are leaf sprung so the hardest part will be finding the axle ,you will want either a d 60 or a d 44 heavy duty .then just bolt it to your existing leaf springs well sort of anyway.

Just get a Dana 60 (with the track bar & steering)from a '85 up F350. Bolts right in (after you get rid of all the TTB crap) Me & a buddy did the swap between a F250 S/C & a f350 reg cab & had both trucks back on the road in 2 days.

'42 GPW, 3" lift, Pinto power
'85 F-350 Crew Cab 2" lift, 35's '
88 4Runner5" lift , 31's
'72 Scout II, beater stock

im doing it to mine same thing as yours, take out ttb and weld perches on make u bolt flip plates, cut ttb crossmember unless you have at least 4 inches of lift, and bolt it all back together, umm sterring needs to be modded too if you have lift you will probly need high steer arms, mudram will make them for a good price

Hmm, sounds like a bit of work...

I don't have the truck yet, but im gonna be buying one within a month or so.

i did a swap like that.....find a dana 60...prefer kingpin but ball joint works too with tie rod and drag link......i cant remember if you need the pitman arm or not ...probly not..........bolt it in.........just like that
