when my truck '85 22r carbed motor is cold, the idle runs at about 1700 rpm is this normal?[1b]

only when cold? sounds about right. maybe alittle high, but if it goes down when it warms up shouldn't be too big of a problem.

I know efi idles around 1250 when cold, so 1500ish sounds about righ for carbed. Maybe some one with a 22r can confirm

lol umm are you sure its not your electric choke?? Does it stop after you put your foot on the gas?

mines the same, it starts at about 1100 and goes up to 1700-1800 then the choke cuts out, almost stalls and then isles nicely at 1000

i've got the same set up and mine runs at 800 at idle and can run up to 1600 or so when the choke is kickin in on the cold start

mine idles at 1500 until it gets warm and goes down to 800[freak] ...that is of course if it starts[V]
