What's it got for driveline? Is it all Chrysler, is it all Chrysler with an AMC engine, or is it all weird AMC shit?

Cool, I was looking to buy one but my current situation isn't really allowing for that anymore. Thanks for the info. BTW, didn't a lot of those come with D44's front and back? How strong are the AMC rears?

Ya some did come with 44 front and rear but i am not sure what years i always just look at them and you can tell. the AMC20 rear in the FSj's is supossed to be pretty stong but never had one myself. i do know that the 20 rear that came in the cjs has smaller axles and is prone to braking. i now that from experance.

all ful size cherokees came with a 44 front diff. watch the year though some are righthand drive some are left. cherokees were also wide wheels while the woody wagons were narrower. as for the rear the 20 axle is stronger than the 44 but the axle tubes are weaker. a simple axle truss fixes that.

didnt the AMC 20 rear axle comes with 2 pc axles? IIRC if they are swapped to regular 1pc axle, they are stronger than a 44.[aahh]
