'84 BII 4x4. The steering wonders a lot while driving at any speed. I cannot see any visible wear on the ball joint, control arm or tie-rod ends.

Any one have any suggestions as to what to look at to fix the problem.

I had the same problem with my cherokee specially turns to the right, the drivers side sway bar link arm was broken. Dunno if you have a sway bar but might be worth looking at.

Check your toe in. Ifs fords loike lotsa toe in to make them drive nice, the only thing is it's a comprimise between driving nice and tire wear.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't think it is the sway bar because it is not broken. I am having Cdn tire do a free front end inspection. Normally I would not even speak of Cdn tire and mechanics, but for the price of $0 it is sorth finding out why it wonders and pulls to the right.

STFU I am a mechanic at Canadian Tire. But your kinda right, cause there are only a couple dozen real mechanics in all of B.C. Most of these twits that our stupid ass government gave tickets to are'nt qualified to ask you if you would like that supersized.

Well sorry if I offended you. The Canadian Tire mechanics/counter persons in this town aren't anything to brag about and have given Canadian tire a bad rap. Not all Cdn. tire are the same.

what is the width on your tires.I just put on a set of 13.5 on mine and it follows every crack in the road.

Most Canadian Tire's do have poor counter people and mechanics, so I take no offence. If you need your problems figured out bring the truck to me and I'll set you up. I work at Canadian Tire so I can also do a FREE front end check, But come to the back and you'll get the answeres to make yor truck right, not what makes the mechanic money, cause thats what the free inspection is all about. You get what you pay for,,,,,some times.

I don't think the width of the tires is the problem because it originally had 205/75R15 and it steered erratically just the same with the 31/10.R15 tires.

As for the free inspection, I imagine that the report that I get back will state that everything will need to be changed and aligned and so on. But it will also tell me if the suspension is causing the problem. I guess I will see.

My sway bar wasn't broken, just one of the links and this was something that I took the truck into Big O for a 50 dollar alignment and they never noticed...of course neither did I...so...tuff shit for me.[15]

How's it handle on the highway driving to work everyday at 120 kph? My Cherokee handles like shit with one end connected [15]...think removing the sway bar altogether is a good idea for something I drive mostly on the road?[cheers] 60 clams for a new link arm with no bushings...[16]

Neither of my trucks have sway bars the BII does 130km with no problems.....

just 1 finger on the wheel any vehicle will track in the ruts from worn pavment...

but ya the inverted y on the ttb does leave a lot to be desired....
your angles will change with articulation...
tends to toe in.

a good rate shock will help ..
try a sector shaft adjustment on the box.

i took my BII in to get checked twice. First to Cdn. tire, they found nothing and said that there was nothing wrong. But there is or else it would drive straight. Second, I took it to Kal Tire and they found $1000 worth of stuff that needed to be repaired. Go figure...

The reason for the wondering is the control are bushings are shot, and then probabely an alignment.
