my truck will turn over onece then dead. its got new batt. and allt. and starter. all i can think is grounds, but iv tryed evrything. its liek its shorting out when i turn the key. any suguestions.[cheers]

HAVE A 90 CHEV PU AND IT WORE OUT,WOULDN'T ALWAYS CRANK.

what kind of truck, check all your batter connetions, make sure there clean and strong, check your batt volt, and charging voltage, if still nothing [31][31][31][31][31][31][31]

if it turns over really hard,, it could be a rolled berring in teh bottom end,,, i have had it before,,, looks like a starter problem,, but it might be a berring...

also sometimes the power cable from the positive post to the starter can have to much resistance in it try a new power cable to the starter. might not be it but had that happen to me an an old timer suggested that and it was good after that ya never know.

make sure youve got good battery connections too, just last week my starter would work once and then short out and after a bt of screwin around it would work once again and then short out so i got a new starter solenoid and shes a beauty

in my scout (with a chev motor) i ended up using a ford solinoid to trgger the chev one the ingnition just wasent putting out the curent i needed

[stupid] I had to do that on my old 4runner and my rx7 as well. I used a relay instead of a second solenoid though.

fuckin peace of shit. iv tried evrything. imjust not getti g enught power to the starter to keep turning the moter over. i pulled all the plugs and tried turning it over and it works fine that way. WTF. but it dont work with all the plugs back in. im confused

Pull your -connection off your battrey,check your voltage between your
positve side and your negetive cable[removed from battery],should be within 1 volt of your battery[check battery volts now], if not you have a ground problem in your truck[battery should 12.7]

With the battery hooked up after, you can do the volt drop tests between battery and starter, ign/starter, etc ... check you're battery under load etc.

hhhhmmmm what do you have ur distributor advance set at. if ya take the power wire off dist does it roll over easier?

what about a good ground strap from motor to frame?

try the replacing the starter or checking the current draw of the damn thing
