I have got a 83 BII with a C% tranny. The problem is that the tranny will not shift into reverse without reving the engine. The tranny fluid is bright red and filled to the proper level. I am thinking it is a vaccum problem but am unsure and would apreciate any suggestions given.

Try the vacuum modulator and then do a tranny flush&filter

My friends drive sooo bad I usually have to drive with an on board Nurse!!!!!

thanks for suggestion, but if you have anymore info on the which vacuum modulator to look at. There are a lot of vacuum lines running in this engine (2.8Lr,) this engine has the more vacuum lines in it than any other engine I've seen. Sometimes I wonder what the engineers at Ford were thinking!

He thanks for the help. I'll give it a shot.
Stupid Bronco was only $500 as is and and only running on 3 out of 6 when I bought it. Figures that the amount of work on it keeps growing. I think I got ripped off.

sounds like the revers band need to be tightened and if that don't help its time for a rebuild or a used one and if the body and frame are decent you got a decent deal but i would suggest putting a 302 in it whit a c-4 behind it and i might have a tranny if you need one

I just plan on getting it running right and taking it out for a few times and then selling it. I want to try out the trak-lok rear-end in it.
