Well not really, had the day off actually! But it felt like I was skipping work 'cause we went quadding! Met up with a couple of guys from Chicago out here in BC doing some camping/motorbike touring around our great province! They went on and on about how lucky we are to have such awesome scenery, low pollution, etc, etc! I forget how fortunate we really do have it until people like this from out of country remind me!

Anyways, they got my name from Quads.ca, and we swapped emails a few months back about riding the C&W Railbed from Castlegar to Christina Lake. I had forgotten all about their trip when I received an email, then a phone call a couple day ago that they were on their way. Met up just after noon, then Wayne and I took them on the 75km (one way) to Christina Lake where we left them to go have supper and beers while we raced back to the trucks. Would have joined them, but the quads would have stuck out like sore thumbs on the main street through the town! Besides, it was almost 6:00 PM by now, and it was 1 1/2 hours back to the truck (plus another 1/2 hour home for me) and I still had to put my buddies 700r4 back in his Chevy for him so he could use the truck Tuesday!

First trestle, they stopped on all three to take pics!

Wayne and I stopped at this rockwall on the way back for a quick snack and to let the wives know we made it.

It was cool meeting a couple of good guys from the states, really wished we had more time to do a few more rides together.

cool trip! When i lived in Trail - oh about 20 years ago, a friend and I took our motorbikes down that same railbed - but with a difference. There were still tracks at the time, and trains running. I worked for CPR at the time and knew there weren't any trains that day, but it's still a little freaky heading into the long tunnel where you can't see the other end

Wow! I couldn't imagine going through the Bulldog tunnel when there were tracks still down! Or the trestles for that matter!
