Heres a layout of the bill [b]

Concern: check and estimate to repair for still losing coolant-having to top up coolant every week-1 cup each tank fill- No external leak seen on ground- started blowing white smoke and running rough- was shut down

Correction: Here is all the carnage they found [16][16][16]

Check for coolant loss- 2litres coolant found in oil pan, engine won't turn over. Removed spark plugs. pressure test, has coolant in #1, #2 and #4 culinder #4 plug was broken Removed cylinder head. Intake gasket leaking into #1 cylinder. BLOCK has .004 warpage. Exsaust manifold to y pipe studs broken off.

Also needs clutch

Replaced clutch. pressure plate. pilot bearing and slave cylinder. filled fluids.

2868.77 in parts
420.00 in labor
178.93 sublet (whatever that is) [16]
485.11 in tax

brings us to a grand total of

$3953.96 and Ford had the balls to tell me they split the cost with me [15] For fucksakes I had just dropped 3grand into the engine with them to do all the gaskets. They even said the head was leaking into #1 cylinder. Whos fucken fault was that [9] Thank you Ford KISS MY [11] and a big [fire]FORD ohh ya and [33]and this too [!]FUCKEN FORDS

But at least I have my truck back [36]

Definetly i'd fight that bill!

You should contact Ford Canada or whatever and royally bitch. If that doesn't work ... then contact the BBB. That always gets their attention.

Telephone Detroit directly. It always works better when you tell them that you are not happy with your treatment so far. If you don't have one, start a diary right now. The diary helps you complain effectively. Record all of the facts that you can remember; the date, where the vehicle was serviced, who you talked to, who serviced the vehicle, etc.

Every time the dealer gives you an answer you don't like, demand that the decision be put in writing.

When the service manager tells you you're "Cannootton Valve" is fucked and that it will take 5 Billion Bucks to fix it, demand that he put his opinion on paper, with a date, his name, and his job title, and sign it. Before you authorize work, fax his opinion to Detroit and suggest that if you find out, now or in a thousand years, that you were ripped off that you will send a copy to the local news. The news always wants a story of someone who was ripped off for $4 000. This isn't chump change.

I'm the GREEN BASTARD!

m j - the 3000 I was talking about was the 3000 I dumped into gasket work before I had to replace the whole engine, ..( see previous threads such as Intake gasket failure, and WTF is a timimg chain cover gasket and why am I buying one?) including the block. So its like I got to buy one engine for the price of two [9]

I'm already looking at Toyotas. Just let me catch up on this first Aight! [36]
