Today we decided to see if the snow had melted enough to climb to the top of Copper Mountain which is at roughly 7200' in elevation. Fortunately we weren't a week earlier, because the snow at the treeline had just melted enough within the last couple of days to get through! Awesome 360 degree, panoramic view from the top. The weather held out all day too, and even managed to get a little sunburn, gotta start to remember the sunblock!

49Creek crossing, sweet little trail just wide enough for the quads.

If you did happen to drop over the edge, it's a long ways to the treeline!

After the shelf road, we had to climb this little hill to get to the old lookout!

Made it to the top! The climb wasn't super steep, but steep and loose enough to make you pay attention!

This is the fall you would have if you lost your balance! In 1981 some grads were killed while 4x4ing late at night, came over the top, didn't make the turn and tumbled the 1000' or so to the bottom.

I have no idea where Cooper Mt is, but Copper Mt is near Nelson!:D

Allwagon, did you drive up there, or backcountry skiing? You can drive a fullsize to the top of Copper, but I wouldn't! There are a couple of really narrow spots on the shelf road!

There was a Yammy Rhino 2 seater there that day, went everywhere we did! And think of the beer it could carry!

K5, what are you doing in AB? The only mountains there are half in BC anyways!:D
