Have a few questions about upgraging my axels.

You all know I have a live axle conversion of D44.

Will a D60 or D80 take coil spring? Do I have to change my suspention for installing a D60 or 80? Wich should I go with?

Any info on this upgrade will be apriciated.

lots of the trucks at postil had coils up front on there 60's i guess just depends how much fab work ya wanna do.but cool upgrade though

Mine is stock front suspension with the d 60 I just purchased the c- tabs that weld to the axle from jeffs bronco grave yard and welded them on done.

you havent broken an axle have ya?.....if ya plan to fit 39.5's....like ya can, then ya 60..but if havent snapped yet....keep what ya have.

Dudes! My prob is the rear is vibrating bad. So instaed of sinking money into new axles or something to fix the 9" I should use the money to up grade.

No axle snap yet but if I do I think it might be the rear. then I'll be fucked.

yah is the axle bent? maybe a bad bearing or gears arent set up properly? you should figure it out before it screws something over majorly

Bearings and gears would make a noise u would know it..

if either was fucked
could your drive shaft be out o balance ?
check your diff alignment

pull your rear shaft run in 4hi see if the vibration is still present.

Na, the vibe was befor the new springs. I think the axles are bent because the wheels wobble and it does it on both sets of tires and on both sides. Could be from when the fuckin tow truck droped my rig. But I'm hasseling with ICBC about the damage to my truck already.
I gots to do something soon.
Maybe stop by and see Tom or Daryl and see what they think.

ya if they dropped your truck that shouldnt of bent it unless it drop from some sustantial height.

put the rear on jack stands, remove both rear tires and make sure the front is unlocked (block in front of the tire is also good a good idea) . now start your truck and put in 1st gear 4 Low and watch your drive line for any eliptical or orbital rotataions or unusuall (wobbles from your driveshaft and also look at wobbles visible at the drum)

I did that and eeven changed the drums. I could hrdly see if the axle was bent I need some sort of gage.

dont go 60 unless you plan to do some upgrades to it, the 8.8 in stock form is as strong if not stronger than the 30 spline 60

crimson has a 60 rear for sale with 4:10 if your interested, ive heard that the 8.8s are stronger tho, and if you do wht barracuda said, dont lock your hubs in .... just making sure

Spend the 10 bucks and by some more 9inch axles and change them if thats not the problem then atleast you have a couple of spares:D

Well Tom called it! I went and saw him the othr day and it Tire separation. the BFG's are fucked from the locker. Fuck! Bad Locker! Need Auburn! No money left thanks to Postil.
We'll the wife likes the vibe!

And the boggers are fucked I sliced them so bad the are being repaired and re valcanized. Going to take a week for that and I'll be well ove 2 g's for repaires from Postil

Who's getting the cartanage award from Postil? How's Reece's truck?

the cut was right in the center between the tread and must have happened when Boyzen draged me out of the lake cause thats when the tire went down.
